Public Arts Newark

Public Arts Newark is an initiative involving The Newark Partnership (TNP), Newark Arts Alliance, Friends of the Newark Free Library, and the New Castle County Public Arts Commission, with support from the City of Newark. Together, these organizations are dedicated to bringing new works of public art to the city of Newark. Through collaboration with local artists, community members, and civic and University of Delaware partners, Public Arts Newark oversees and organizes the creation of art that reflects Newark’s identity, celebrates its diversity, and enlivens its public spaces

Public art has the power to transform neighborhoods, spark conversation, and foster a shared sense of pride and belonging. Public Arts Newark aims to make that transformation visible — turning walls, corridors, and gathering places into expressions of the community’s creativity and culture.

Library Avenue Mural Project (LAMP)

The Library Avenue Mural Project aims to enhance the visual, cultural, and civic character of the Library Avenue underpass corridor through a thoughtfully designed, site-responsive mural.

Hillside Park Mural Project

The Hillside Park Mural Project is a public art initiative.

Serving as a critical pilot initiative, this project is strategically designed to provide the core project team with essential operational experience, streamlined municipal workflows, and refined community engagement strategies. This “baby step” will establish a reliable framework before the team tackles the larger, more structurally complex Library Avenue Mural Project (LAMP).
