An army of citizen activists in the 1960s created the White Clay Creek State Park and the contiguous White Clay Creek Preserve in Pennsylvania. The story of the confluence of factors that formed the parks is amazing, and little known. Jan Owens, author of the new book “History of the White Clay Creek,” will speak about her research into the topic and share many images of the area. Jan will have copies of her book available for sale. Registration is free, but seating is limited to the first 65 registrants due to Newark Senior Center’s room capacity.
